If you’ve ever reached out to us, you will have likely spoken directly with me. In January 2021, I will celebrate 18 years working with this company and its one-of-a-kind team. Some days I can hardly believe it has been so long, and I’m forced to check the math in my mind! But it’s true.
I still reminisce with our longest running clients of the tenacious 23 year old version of myself – determined to be the front face of customer service, the first one in the building, the last to leave, insisting on sharing the giant black laminate curved desk of our 100 Street & Jasper Avenue office with Kathy, our receptionist at the time, greeting anyone who walked through our doors. It feels like a million years ago… or maybe just like yesterday.
We moved to virtual offices in 2009 – the year I became co-owner – and the one piece I instantly missed dearly was the human connection to our customers. I suppose, were there one very important blessing that 2020 has brought us it is that we now ‘see’ our clients far more often using virtual meeting technology. I thank God for that! I get to share laughs and stories, and your dreams for your companies face-to-face, as it were, and that makes a huge difference for me.
Today, when we ‘meet’, you will often catch me with a too-large cup of coffee nearby, and any one of my three pups (if not all) lazing on the nest chair in my office or on the floor beside me. If I’m on your project, you can count on me having an excess amount of furry moral support on my side!
I have a passion for SiteWyze, for her clients, her team. Since becoming the sole owner of this little company in 2019, our team has determined to become even more people-driven.
I really believe that small and medium-sized businesses are the life of our individual communities. My personal goal for the next chapter in this company is to do everything we can to help our fellow entrepreneurs weather the struggles of late, while continuing to contribute to my own family, both personal, as well as my work one.
We currently support nearly 300 local businesses (!) with a hand that stretches as far as South America in some cases. And behind every project, there is a client with a personal connection to our team.
In 2021, it is our family’s goal to work with every business owner that needs us to help them put their best foot forward during the recovery phase of our current economic struggle. This is our backyard. These are our neighbours. If you need help, we want to be here for you.
So what happens next…
Well, I’d like to find myself a little oasis in the beautiful Alberta backwoods where I can sit and watch ducks on a pond, my giant Corso lazing in the sun on the wrap around porch, a big old wood fire burning in the background somewhere. But that, we save for another day!
For now, we move forward, expanding our service offerings to get businesses either off the ground on the right foot, or retracing the steps of established companies to ensure none of the gems of their history stay hidden.
While I’m not one for cliché comments, we really are “all in this together”… let’s keep moving forward!
