HOW TO GET EMAIL HEADERS

Full e-mail message headers provide invaluable information when trying to track down a problem. This guide will show you how to view full headers in several popular e-mail software applications and online e-mail services. Once the full headers are in view you can copy and paste them for your own reference or into an e-mail to send to our support department.

Outlook Express 5 and 6
Right click on the message and click on Properties.
Click on the Details tab and click the Message Source button.

Windows Mail (Vista) and Windows Live Mail (Windows 7)
In the list of messages, right-click on the message in question and choose Properties.
In the Properties window click on the Details tab.
The headers will be displayed in the section labeled Internet headers for this message.

Outlook 98, 2000, and 2003
Open the message in its own window by double clicking on it in the list of messages.
Click on View, then Options in the message’s menu bar.
Near the bottom of the Options screen is a section labeled Internet Headers that contains the full message headers.

Outlook 2007 and above (Ribbon Interface)
Open the message in its own window by double clicking on it in the list of messages.
In the window click the small arrow just to the right of Options.
The Message Options screen contains a section labeled Internet headers.

Outlook 2010 and above
Open the email
Click File > Info > Properties

Mozilla Thunderbird
Open the message in its own window by double clicking on it in the list of messages.
In the menu bar, select View, then Headers, and click All.
Alternatively, try clicking on View followed by Message Source.

Mac Mail (a.k.a Mail a.k.a Mail.app)
Open the message in its own window by double clicking on it in the list of messages.
In the menu bar, click on View, then Message, then Raw Source.

Entourage 2004
Open the message in its own window by double clicking on it in the list of messages.
In the menu bar, click on View and then Internet Headers.

Entourage 2008
Open the message in its own window by double clicking on it in the list of messages.
In the menu bar, click on Message and then Internet Headers.

Gmail Web Interface
Open the message in question by clicking on it in the list of messages.
Click on the small downward facing arrow next to the Reply button at the top right of the message.
On the menu that appears click on Show Original.

Yahoo E-Mail Web Interface
Open the message in question by clicking on it in the list of messages.
Click on the link marked Full Headers.

Windows Live Hotmail Web Interface
Right click on the message in question while viewing the list of messages.
On the menu that appears click on View Source.

Hotmail Classic Web Interface View
While in the main interface click on Options, then Preferences.
Scroll down to the Headers section and select Advanced Headers.
The classic view will now display full headers when viewing messages normally.

SquirrelMail
Open the message in question by clicking on it in the list of messages.
Click on the link marked View Full Header in the Options section at the top of the message.

Horde
Open the message in question by clicking on it in the list of messages.
Click on the link marked Show All Headers.

RoundCube
Open the message in question by clicking on it in the list of messages.
Click on the link marked Message Source.
